Aclara and/or affiliate subcontractor sent technicians to my home, unannounced, two times during the month of March 2022 RE installation of Smart Meter. During the first incident, we told the technician his visit was not warranted. However, the technician insisted he had a job to do; proceeded to trample over my flower bed, and damaged personal property. I received a $100 charge on my ConEd bill for not allowing a smart meter to be installed in our home. The problem is that I have never received any notices or had anyone come by to try to install the meter. According to ConEd's data, there were 5 attempts by Aclara. But that seems highly unlikely since there is always someone at our home. Don't understand how FIVE attempts were made and we were all oblivious. I think something is definitely suspect here.

The worst customer service ever. It takes over half an hour before a representative comes to the phone and since they are working from home, you can hear their children screeching in the background. The technician never showed up even though the appointment had been confirmed and making an appointment on the company portal is so futile - don't even bother. Yet, I get letters from *** ****** threatening a $100 monthly "No Access" fee for not installing the smart meter. So how is it that I get penalized for this company's inco... read more
