Had excellent service today with my 93 old mother. Acadian Ambulance EMT's were very professional and followed our on call instructions perfectly. Thank You - However I do have a concern in that I received a call on my cell from a random Lafayette # which I did not answer. I doubt I am the only one who doesn't answer random out of town #'s on their cell. It would be nice if Acadian On Call came up on my phone and not a random #. I want to let everyone know my Mother had a fall, her emergency alert device never went off and this is not the first time. When we contacted Acadia on call the dispatcher said to call back during regular business hours… How very sad that this is the way they take care of of our elderly. I will be switching to life line ASAP!
After my husband passed away and no family nearby, I felt uncomfortable being home alone in the event I did have an issue. I do not have any fall or serious medical issues but having my medical alert call bracelet has been such a piece of mind. I no longer fear someone finding me days or weeks later.
