Amazing – I was just married at the Acadian a few days ago and I couldn't be happier with our choice. They were more affordable than other locations. The food was AMAZING! We had pork and turkey, both good, however we are both pretty sure it's the best turkey we have ever had! The staff was always friendly and willing to help all we had to do was ask and they were there with what we needed. Not worth the $$$ – Did you know that your photographer has to grease the Arcadian's palm to be on their "approved list"... which actually is passed on to you, so you are paying $200 more just to use their photographer. My experience was also the facility was filthy from the previous nights wedding and the decorations were only partially taken down. SAD custoemr service...
A Dream not a Nightmare! – I was at the same wedding the two "nightmare" reviews are from and have the complete opposite impression. AGREE...NIGHTMARE – Let me start by saying..... SAVE YOUR MONEY!! The wedding was wonderful, everything looked beautiful, THANKS TO EVERYONE BUT THE STAFF. Nightmares – I had the pleasure of attending a wedding this past Saturday. While the Bride and Groom were beautiful and the florist did and amazing job transforming the ballroom into a stunning setting, the staff was a nightmare. On the happiest day of a new couples life you would think that the staff would at minimum, smile. There was not one person on the staff that was at all helpful. Wedding Memories That Will Last A Lifetime – As my wedding got closer it seemed like I had a new question everyday and the Acadian staff was quick to respond to my questions and never made me feel like a bother. I made changes up until the week of my wedding and they never once batted an eye - they smiled and accommodated everything. The DJ that was at our reception was great he did a great job of quickly figuring out what kind of music would keep people dancing the night away and played a great mix of dance songs. Caters to brides AND grooms – I got married at the Acadian in July of 2009. This company was very helpful with providing well-informed suggestions to us for things like the beer and wine and food choices. Our event planner was great at keeping my wife sane during planning. They have a very cool room for the guys to hang out in before the wedding complete with X-box and theater. My buddy is getting married at the Acadian this summer and says it was the only place that made the groom feel comfortable too.
Loved it Loved it Loved it – The Acadian ballroom had the best value of any place we checked out in Portland. Almost everything is included already. After we booked, we didn’t have to do any planning at all for 6 months because they had taken care of so much of the ceremony and reception. Dreams don't come true here – I was apart of a wedding at this locations and the owners & their son caused major problems for the bride & groom. Everyone was really excited to use this location, but everything turned out wrong and there is no resolution.
