DO NOT LET THEM SET YOU UP WITH A SECOND MORTGAGE FOR THE DOWN PAYMENT. I was told my 700+ credit score was too low to be able to have the special assistance with the down payment. Because of this they set me up with a second mortgage to cover the down payment for my mortgage. I was then informed that we are asked not to refinance for six months. We followed through. Looked into refinancing and I was told that we cannot until we PAY OFF THE SECOND MORTGAGE. So now I am stuck in the mortgage until I can pay off the balance. I... read more
