I was incredibly disappointed with the OSU Emergency Room care. My college aged child was in the ER with a broken collar bone Saturday evening, 1 Feb 2020. Obviously, he was in a great deal of pain, but he specifically asked the doctor not to be prescribed anything addictive. What did they prescribe him, exactly that: Oxycodone. Hours later, when my son and I were discussing it when the nurse told us-- my son just wanted to go home and capitulated. I asked for it to be changed AND SHE DID NOTHING. I love my OSUMC doctors. The people working in the ER dont need to be in the medical field. They are rude and their service sucks.
I went to this ER with chest pain and the nurse that attended to me was very dismissive. I could have collapsed because my nurse did not seem to think I had actual heart issues and the staff was in no hurry to get me back to be seen by a physician. I was later diagnosed with something at another ER I went to because this ER made me wait when I was presented with chest pain. It’s ridiculous. While visiting our daughter at Ohio State hospital. The RN nurse Sarah was great with her. She kelp her very comfortable. Put her in different positions to help there unborn child. She was very attentive and professional and that’s why, I give this hospital 5 �.
After 4 1/2 HOUR wait, + time? My husband whom has been sick for over 3 weeks, lost 30+ lbs. Not once did any of the professional staff members come out and check on any of the patient in the waiting area and apologize for the extreme wait. When patients are checked in they should be leveled at a #1 general illness, #2 stiches, broken bones, etc, #3 Heart, Lungs, or Severe illnesses. A separate department for each level of care needed. I have a GJ tube which fell out of my stomach. I sat in the ED for almost 5 hours. Filthy, slow and the guy at the check in obviously hates his job!
