I thought it was odd to see negative comments on here, as my family used to make this a yearly treat. But my family and I went today and all I can say is, should have stayed home and bought seafood locally, would have saved money and a drive. Prices are outrageous for a sandwich... a tiny McDonald's size bun with a 1/4 a cup or less of crab or lobster (shell chunks included) with 1.5-2 pickle chips... not a busy day at all and our order was half hazzardly put together. I love Abbott's! They have the best hot lobster roll and the view is gorgeous! I try to stop either on my way up to visit family in RI or on my way home. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this place.
This is our favorite place to eat! It's casual, and yes, you need to wait for your food, because it is all cooked to order! The lobster is absolute perfection, as is anything else you order! It is super laid back and that is the attitude you need to have when you get here. Order your food, bring along your beverage, enjoy the view of the water while you wait for your food, then dig in and enjoy!!!! Top off your lobster with some ice cream. Relax and soak it in! �
We go to Abbott's two or three times a year & we absolutely love it. To date - it has not disappointed us. It's not a fancy restaurant- hence the name "in the rough" but that's part of it's charm. But if you want scrumptious lobster & a lay back ambient - then this is a MUST when you go to Mystic.
