Dr. Katz was a pleasure to deal with. He has a confident and calming way about him. He is a true professional.
Although Dr. Katz is extremely qualified, after 2 years of treatment I found his practice to be a revolving door. Every appointment is rushed with seemingly no connection to the patient. I have had several prostate biopsies in the past 6+ years and his was by far the most painful due to his rushing the procedure (he did not give the numbing medication enough time to be 100% effective). I have since moved on.
Dr Katz has assembled a world class team. He really cares about his patients and staff.
I was in a lot of pain. I really couldn't function. I was treated by Dr. Katz at his previous hospital, and had always felt confident being under his care. So I went back to him.His manner is personal, that's in addition to being one of the top urologists in the New York area, or the country. Long story short, he and his excellent staff moved my treatment date up a bit because I was in dire need. I underwent green laser surgery with Dr. Katz and was totally healed. I heartily recommend him.
My father-in-law saw Dr. Katz today & was so impressed with him & the entire practice! Just wanted to share. My father-in-law will be going for an MRI on Saturday & then a biopsy. Glad that he is in excellent hands @ Winthrop Urology!
I did cryotherapy of my prostate for low grade cancer and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I realize there were complications but Dr Katz was never around for any of them! He had me seen by his PA and was never available after the surgery. I moved my care elsewhere.

Understanding about patients needs. Takes time with the patient to explain treatmentand makes sure the patient understands. Never rushes you out.
Dr. Katz creates a very welcome, comforting, warm and has a very professional demeanor when dealing with his patients. He is not quick to prescribe extraordinary measures to deal with common conditions. There is no question that you would be highly satisfied with the treatment and experience that Dr. Katz provides to his patients.
