great appointment experience! I stopped into A L'Amour while traveling on business alone in Chicago. This was my very first bridal appointment and it went fabulous! I had an excellent consultant Chrystal who was super helpful, listened to what I wanted, gave feedback on the gowns I tried on, was patient, friendly, kind and just super knowledgeable. A L'Amour Bridal Shop is horrible I do not support this establishment at all!!! I purchased my wedding dress and bridal veil from this store and had all my fittings done here spending well over 5 grand. When you are getting fitted they do not let you walk around in your dress so I had no idea that later, when I would have to walk down the aisle, I wasn't able to! A L'Amour Bridal Shop is inconsistent I purchased a bridesmaid dress from A L'Amour 5 years ago and had a wonderful experience. When I got engaged I was excited to return and possibly purchase my wedding gown at the store as well. Ask For Carmel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first time I walked in the door the girls at the front desk were very snippy and rude. I was there with my baby to try on a dress and order it. They said I needed an appointment and frowned at my child. After confrontation with the girl I took the dress and tried it on. I did not order the dress because it was an inconvenience to them to measure me because I did not have an appointment. Wonderful Gown Shopping Experience The bridal consultant I worked with was Carmel. She was wonderful. She was very honest throughout the entire buying process. Every time I called to asked questions she either got to the phone immediately or called back very quickly. This salon has everything. They have gorgeous designer gowns, jewelry, shoes, veils, bridesmaid gowns, mother-of-the bride gowns. You will not have to shop anywhere else. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! A L'Amour is wonderful. They helped us with everything long distance. (We couldn't get our dresses in St. Louis.) When we had a major crisis (S. Louis seamstress from hell wrecked five dresses), they even called Alvina Valenta and New York and begged for fabric. This shop is incredible! Rhonda, thanks for everything!
Phone service has room for improvement. I just got off the phone with A Lamour. The woman on the phone first seemed upset with me for saying my wedding will be in 4 months. She then was curt with me about appointment times. I inquired about a specific style of dress and she said, "Oh, we wouldn't have anything like That. The final kicker was when she asked, "What is your price range?"
