A Fireplace Store and More After reading reviews on Yelp, I decided to make an appt. one week in advance for servicing our gas fireplace. Catching Hudson at 11:02 am just when the store opened, I was informed that we would be the first service call on the day of appt. I attempted to extract a service call fee from Hudson to view the unit and determine what work would be required toward having the fireplace run correctly. We needed to have our 12 year old fireplace serviced so I contacted the Firplace Store and More. Hudson came to our house a few days before Christmas (evening to accommodate our work schedules). He was AWESOME! Not only did he repair our fireplace, he also showed us where the shut off valve for the fire place was located (we should have known this, but did not.......). Love my Fireplace..... Would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a fireplace installation. Hudson took time to explain the workings of the Mendota direct vent fireplace as opposed to installing a simple gas log. Not only is the Mendota unit environmentally "green", it's also beautiful. Rony did the installation and he did a wonderful job. He takes pride in his work and it shows in the end product. He answered all questions and explained things as he was installing. 0 Stars 0 STARS!! HORRIBLE! We ordered a fireplace insert back on October 14. It is December 16 and the job just got completed today. Roni and Hudson were very unprofessional and did not show up for several appts. They claimed they ordered items that were never ordered. We ended up calling Mendota directly to get the ball rolling. When they did finally install the unit, it was not level, the left a gap between the faceplate and the wall (cold air coming in), they covered a portion of the gas valve and caused a gas leak in ou... read more
