Recently I had 918 Red Dirt Foam and Insulation redo the attic insulation in our thirty seven year old home. I selected this company out of five that quoted me on the work required. 918 RD was by far NOT the cheapest quote. What impressed me was the thoroughness of the estimate done by the estimator Carlos. He examined every nook and cranny of the attic, a 4000 square foot house, and showed me videos and still photos of the existing insulation. I had them out in October to spray-foam a walk-in attic. Paid them over $2000 for about 150 sf space. They "missed" a large portion that's still exposed to the outside, and now that we're in freezing winter, that space is useless to me because it's STILL an icebox. Outside temperature at the time of the photo was 19 degrees. Update March 2025-- On a windy day today, I'm now finding more MISSED locations where outside air is getting through. Sorry to report disappointment with this company. One attic room in particular needed protection from the cold and I requested closed cell insulation. The salesperson said he could not get the equipment into the required area but he assured me that loose insulation would suffice. So, now it clearly has not solved my problem and this attic space still measures freezing temps in sub freezing weather. A space heater is still needed in the master shower to protect water pipes from freezing in that space. Unfortunately, I cannot ... read more
