The 1 star is purely for turning the hockey game off as I was watching it. I was a guest in this town, and this was my first time at this bar full of locals. I understand the reason was likely to keep the attention on the cool band that started playing live, but the tv had no sound and the game was the only reason I was there. They could have asked me if I minded, but someone, I’m guessing the manager, saw me as I was watching it and asked the bartender to turn the tv off. This made me feel very unwelcome. I have not had a beer here (yet) but the little bar downstairs is the best in town as far as I am concerned. It is such an intimate environment and the bartender is so welcoming and knowledgeable. The zero proof cocktails are as well thought out and delicious as the regular menu. If you're in HR and the place is open, do yourself a favor.
The bar is a friendly place, and the basement bar is truly amazing.
