Lifetime Replacement – I just wanted to clear up any confusion. This is a lifetime replacement for a part. Most manufacturers have gone to a 90 day warranty on their parts. Which means if you purchase a part, lets say for $60.00, and it fails at 91 days you would have to purchase another one for $60.00. This is an added service so that you would never have to purchase that part again as long as you own that appliance. If it was me I would be more upset at 91 days having to repurchase. Buyer Beware, lifetime warranty scam ! – They had the part I needed, "GREAT", the price of the part was reasonable, "OK", but then added 10% to the invoice for a lifetime warranty, with no disclosure that the charge is being added to the total invoice. The only hint I received was the salesman comment, "this part has a lifetime warranty, if it fails bring it back for a replacement! I did not ask for this warranty, it was automatically added according to the salesman. This is outright deceptive theft of your money, at a time ... read more
If you need it today?! – On the other hand they heve every thing and are very knowledgeable. You on the other hand should know better than to buy insurance on a depreciating asset. So my philosophy is if you need a part and you don't want to wait for mail order mysteries (and miseries), just go there and get it
Beware of lifetime warranty – Greer started a in-store lifetime warranty offer in 2007 -- may be worth the extra money on some items, but I felt taken by surprise when the kind salesman asked if I wanted this. In hindsight, a $6 extra on a $24 oven heating element (replacing the original of 20 years) was likely wasted money. I do not care for these on the spot decisions and even after writing to share my dislike for it, the written reply letter had no offer to return the money.
