Installation was fine and we've been happy with the panels for the past 4 years. HOWEVER - trying to reach anyone with in issue is impossible! They don't answer the phones and the online "case" submission constantly errors out. It's a shame because everything was fine until now. UPDATE 6/13/25: Need to fix the roof but this company doesn't do "residential" work anymore. We can't find anyone to remove the panels because other solar companies won't work on things they didn't install. We are screwed!
The customer care is “ZERO”. Staff not very courteous && cooperative.
This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. I have been having the same issues as all the other reviews. Customer service is horrible. This company ruined my roof. I don’t think my panels are working. My electric bill is higher now than before. They no longer service my region. I never received tax credit. The journey with this company has been a nightmare. I am stuck with a $35,000 loan and cannot get any resolution from this company.
My experience with 1st light energy has been anything but pleasant. In 2019 we decided to have solar installed on our home to save us on the rising energy costs. What we didn't know is the how this company would treat us after financing 70k for solar panels. Initial install caused interior damage, leaking roof and poor craftsmanship over all. Buying a home and this company installed the solar panels on the roof for it. We have been trying for weeks to get ANYONE on the phone to learn about what owning a home with solar panels entails but no one - NO ONE - will call back. the line disconnects, no one answers emails. It's a mess.
