What a great salon. It's a well-known establishment, so some attitude could be expected...but there's no attitude; instead, there is a real feeling of calm and the place is remarkably free of pretense. The personnel at the front desk are friendly and ready to answer any questions about the products (though there's no hard sell). .I had the Brazilian Keratin treatment done for the first time 4 months ago, and I got spoiled so I just had it re-done. It lasts 4 months and it is fantastic!! My hair is the type that no matter how much time I spend on styling it at home, the moment I go outside and it's even slightly humid, it will frizz and look sloppy. If it rains, it's even worse. I saw Veka for my hair last week... my hair was just unruly dull, frizzy, grey/Brown, long and plain! From the minute you walk into the salon you are treated like family, regardless of what service you're there for. I was in the city for a short time and really needed a haircut. I called at 1 St ave Salon and they fit me in with Veka. From the second I walked in the door, I was made to feel comfortable and at home. Veka gave me a thorough consult, and gave me such a great cut! she is innovative, concerned, VERY talented, and sweet as can be. I will certainly go back and will try to have her be my only stylist. I have a LOT and SUPER straight hair that used to be very hard for me to style on a day to day basis. FLAT was the adjective that followed me everywhere. I've been to Veka a few time.She had never failed me. She took time to know what I wanted and delivered the results that beyond my expectations! I got so many compliments after each visits. I cannot say enough about the amazing Veka is . I have worked in the fashion industry for many years and have tried many trendy salons, but was never really satisfied.
