I wish that they could get rid of the moldy smell when you walk in because it is a major turnoff. Once you get past the entrance way and into the restaurant, though, it is a pretty nice date night restaurant.
This place is so beautiful like an old speak easy. Most delicious fries and any drink you can name, they have it!
I was in there yesterday with my girlfriend and Don waited on us. He was very busy but took the time out to go over the menu and recommend the lobster roll witch was amazing!!! We’re originally from New England so you can imagine that it’s hard to find a good lobster roll. We will definitely come back not only was the service great but the food as well.
I went to 1884 today with four of my girlfriends and had Don as our waiter. He was just fabulous we didn’t have to wait for anything and the place seemed to be busy! He was attentive and a blast to talk to we will definitely be back to see Don we just loved him!!!
Atmosphere food and the service is great will be back again.
We have been going to 1884 for several years. We brought someone from out of town tonight and found our favorite bartender, Sasha, had put in her resignation and was no longer there, and we will miss her lots. But I have to say that Teresa and John worked their behinds off tonight. I have never seen the restaurant and bar so busy. I don't think they took a break one time and we were there for 3.5 hours - they never stopped moving.
