Best Wine Menu in McHenry County 1776 is a great restaurant in general, but the best thing about it is the wine menu! If you are a wine lover, you will want to have dinner here.
Tapas is fun This is a great place to take a number of guests on the tapas nights. More food to try and a fun way to enjoy your evening. We did this recently and our guests had never had tapas so it made it more fun. Good wine selection also.
Great Place We have been to the 1776 Restaurant several time and really enjoyed it each time. They have special evenings with wine tasting and Tapas. Their menu is very good with mostly specialty items. They are a bit pricey, but well worth the money. I would highly recommend them.

Best steak, Meatloaf was amazing, and Fresh fish is fantastic.
Delicious and great atmosphere without being too fancy. Gluten free food that you’d never guess. Would come back again!
Highly recommend 1776! Food is delicious and servers (and owner!) are so welcoming...for anyone with food allergies or Celiac, they take it very seriously and the entire menu can be accommodated. First time in 8 years I was able to have crab cakes and calamari...outstanding! Made another reservation for this week!
The whole meal is an experience. Fantastic food without being “ high and mighty”. Eric in the bar is amazing for recommendations!
1776 has always been one of my favs. Their outdoor dining area is perfect!
