Owner of the company David Jennings has multiple cases against him in the small claims court in Truro. Unfortunately I am one of the victims of the scam. Took my deposit and never completed the job.
Hired in Dec 2023. Paid them $3900 deposit for my roof in Dec. Dave told me he could get it done in about 6 weeks. They never came to do the roof. I was repeatedly told I was next, very soon, this week etc. End of August I had another company do the roof. I advised Dave we had the roof completed and needed to be refunded. Sept 5th we spoke on the phone and he advised he would refund me. He agreed he would refund me in 30 days. The 30 days came and went and I got explanations as to why he hadn't yet refunded me. We paid him to redo our leaking roof last November. Was told normal turnaround is 6 weeks but he'd try to get us in before Christmas. At the time, I didn't think to specify the year. Apparently I should have, as he then disappeared. The only way to communicate is to complain about him online, to which he immediately reaches out and demands it taken down. Which makes sense, as he clearly has the time to look for reviews since he isn't doing work.
I contracted Zwicker to provide new roof, provided a deposit, but no one showed up on the expected start date or contacted me about a change in schedule. I messaged asking to cancel the contract and refund the deposit. When I finally heard back from David, he said that another roof had taken longer than expected, however he made no commitment to refund deposit. He has not returned any messages since then. I had them here 3 1/2 years ago to re-shingle my roof. On the first day of the job I looked out the window and saw a bottle of vodka sitting on top of one of the shingle bundles, my instinct was to immediately throw them off the property but I needed the job done before fall and everyone else was booked solid.
