Zubies Dry Dock

4.5

About this business

Zubie's Dry Dock is a showcase of Huntington Beach's lifestyle: casual. The floor is covered with sawdust. In the dining area, the walls are covered by surfboards and a 100-foot mural showing five decades of local history. A 300-gallon aquarium and a designated area of games separate the bar and dining area. In every direction you look is a TV. This is a place for both friends and families. Although not everyone agrees on the taste of the food, with no doubt, the portions and deals are unbeatable. On weekday nights, stretch ... read more

Bench Seating This is a cool litle restaurant located in the corner of a large strip mall and the outside is a bit deceiving. It looks like it might be a biker's dive bar but when you go inside, it's almost like a picnic style seating - long benches and picnic-type tables fill the area. The food is standard fare and prices are in line with that.

Fun Atmosphere I have friends that drive from Lakewood just to go to Zubies. It has an open and relaxed atmosphere. The food is satisfactory and the service is friendly.

No service, not a good value I was recommended this from a fellow HB resident. Upon walking in this place the confusion sets in. It is all community seating, meaning it's a bunch of picnic style seats that you may have to share your table with other patrons. The floor is scattered with sawdust over checkered tile. Why, other than the fact they are inviting a lawsuit from someone slipping and falling I don't know. (My wife almost fell twice) Ordering is confusing to say the least. 1 station for the bar, 1 for the oyster bar/ ... read more

Zubie's has something for every taste bud We've been eating here for over 10 years. The fish is always fresh and a great bargain too. The servings are massive and provide a fantastic salad bar. They serve pizzas that look marvelous and have heard from other patrons that they are excellent though we tend to indulge on the ribs.A casual atmosphere with an oyster bar and spirits bar. Seating is on long picnic benches that accommodate large groups. PROS: great food, large servings, great price. CONS: the location is dismal

Zubies has gone down hill – Went to Zubies Dry Dock last night. I was really looking forward to it because I used to go to the one in Costa Mesa years ago. Zubies in Costa Mesa had the best Calamari Tacos and pizza deals. Zubies Dry Dock in Huntington Beach was terrible. We ordered the seared tuna, breaded fish, fillet mignot and the coconut shrimp. Tuna= tasted like half baked tuna it was not seared and tasted terrible Breaded fish = was dry and tasted like it was fried in old grease Shrimp = was totally burnt, sent it back... read more

Highly recommend... – Great food at great prices, fast service, generous portions, fun atmosphere... no need to tell the kids to be quiet!

very casual dining – Been there done that. Great for sports teams after practice or games. Prices are reasonable, Fish is good. Yes you pay as you go (then again Congress does that--yeah right). Different parts are separated as to what you want to eat. Bar and bar food. Sit down dinners also. IF you are wanting to take food to go, go somewhere else. Zubies is not the place for ordering to go food. Seems as if they forgot that part of restaurant schooling. Go there about 6 to 12 times a year, when I am in mood for fish and ch... read more
