The Japanese place to go! If you're tired of eating in "fast food" japanese places, this is the place to go! The food is great but do not expect huge quantities of food. You get quality not quantity. Pricey but if you want fresh, healthy japanese food, then pay them a visit!

Terrible Services for Moms with Kids – Our family has enjoyed this restaurant very much since Davis branch opened some monthes a go. Their food is good and srvices are used to be good. However, they changed their attitude when only MOMS and KIDS were presented in the restaurant at Davis branch.. They never tried to serve us, even did not ask if we needed high chairs...they have seen we had 4 kids.. The Best Japanese food in town – I have tried sushi before at other places and never really had a taste for it until I had Zen Toro sushi. Now I cant get enough of it. I can understand some of the bad experiences written on the reviews... even I have been somewhat disappointed with their service, but that will never keep me away from the yummy sushi. I don't know where the last four reviewers ate – but it could not have been Zen Toro. It IS the best sushi in Sacramento. My husband and I have eaten here on many occasions and have never had a bad experience. The food is always delicious, service prompt, and the atmosphere delightful. They regularly update the menu, adding new and experimental rolls - things you don't find anywhere else in Sacramento. best sushi in sac! – this is my favorite restaurant in sac! i live in NYC now and everytime i am home, this is one place that is a must!! the sushi is wonderful and so affordable as is their menu. i have yet to find a place like this in NYC, where all the sushi is not authentic and way overpriced! i have loved every dish at zen toro and crave it when i'm not in sac!!
Best Sushi in Town!!! Yum Yum...... – Yummy~~~Zen Toro has the best sushi in town, and I have been their customer since last year when I was referred by my friends. "Lemmon papper albcore" is the must have dish!!!! But if you want sushi dishes to arrive before meal, you definitely need to request it beforehand.
Zen Flop – Twice visited, twice burned. Told this was the best sushi in town, I'm now questioning the sanity of many I once admired for their good taste. We waited and waited on a very slow Monday night --one member of the group finished his non-sushi dish 60 minutes before the first sushi "appetizer" arrived. We finally gave up and left without eating after 100 minutes. Try the piano bar and restaurant two doors down, they've fed more than one dissatisfied and hungry Zen Toro customer.
Traditional Japanese food and fusion sushi lures the late-night crowds to midtown. – The Scene Simple decor like an entryway bamboo plant encircled by scattered rocks and a curved fish tank in the back befits the casually dressed pre-party crowd.
