Fantastic food. This place is such a hidden gem. We got Ma Po Tofu, eggplant, and Kung Pao chicken. The tofu balanced out the spicy flavor of the kung pao chicken, and the eggplant was perfect. Haven’t enjoyed a meal like this in quite a while. I’ll be definitely coming back for more.
I feel like Del Mar was missing an authentic chinese restaurant and Zen filled that need perfectly. Every item here has so much flavor and cooked perfectly. It's also rare to see authentic chinese restaurants have a full bar and have the sports games on too, which i especially appreciate. Vibe/ambience is great and it's always so clean as well. Highly recommend.
Unassuming restaurant that serves seriously high quality cuisine. We ordered the white wine wok classic with tofu and broccoli stir fry with beef the first time around. We loved it so much, we came back and ordered the same dishes again. I can’t believe the tasty concoctions these chefs transform tofu and veggies into—literally flavor explosions in my mouth! We tried the beef and veg egg rolls as well, and wow; best I’ve ever tried (especially the beef egg roll!). I usually dislike most egg rolls, but these were so delicious... read more
