Rooms are small and stuck in the 1960's. Hallways smell like 1962: that aroma of smoke-stained walls and beer-stained carpets that have been shampooed too many times. Train horn is loud and runs both late into the night and early in the morning.

Nice hotel. When I stayed they were remodeling the pool 1st floor area. Right next to the Buttercup Restaurant so great breakfast is just a few feet away. Staff is very nice. Maybe a 3+ Star Hotel.

My all time favorite Bay area place to stay. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful people. Superb access to everywhere you need to be in Oakland. The newly redesigned pool area is refreshing and relaxing. I recommend The Inn at Jack London Square highly.
I loved staying here before. Now too many remodels have made it just another place. The vintage feel is gone. Management was rude. Too expensive and no pen or paper in rooms! Masking tape left from painting...just not the place I loved a couple years ago. $20 a night to park! $5 A day for a microwave. .seriously! ? It's $179 room and then all the nickel and dime charges. Better and more acceptable places to stay.
