I’ve been saying for a while that I was going to try YuYu and I’m honestly so mad that I waited as long as I did. I have definitely found my new favorite restaurant in Altus.

We ordered classic Chinese dishes including beef fried rice. At first I crunched hard bits and thought they were just crispy onions, but after adding soy sauce to the tasteless rice, I spotted loads of broken egg shells mixed in. A tiny fragment might be forgivable, yet there was nearly half an egg’s worth of sharp shell pieces I’d already chewed through. Total letdown with tonight’s takeout order, none of the food hit the mark at all. The dumplings were unpleasant, slippery and slimy through and through with zero satisfying texture. I’d hoped for crispy fried combo noodles, but they arrived completely soft with no crunch whatsoever. Before I headed out with my order, I double-checked with the staff if there was plenty of soy sauce included, and she assured me there would be enough.
