Dr. Falkinstein is a very talented surgeon, and also a very patient, kind person. He always took the time to answer my questions, and was very thorough in reviewing all of my test results and images with me. He made sure I felt calm and comfortable the day of surgery, and was great at reviewing my progress at my follow-up appointments. I highly recommend him to anyone experiencing back pain - he gave me my life back and I will forever be grateful!!
I have known Dr. Shahan Yacoubian for the last 11 Years. We worked together at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center. He is one of the most skilled and compassionate Surgeon’s I know. I went to him for my own medical reason’s about 3 years ago for arthritis in my left hip. 1st he did shots, and that relieved the pain for a long time. Then the pain intensified to the point that I needed a total hip replacement. It has been 4 weeks post op and I’m now walking without a cane. Yeah for the Dr
Do not use this doctor for a QME evaluation if you are on Worker's Comp. you are subject to benefit interruption and your primary treating physician removed from the MPN. this doctor spends very little time with you and apparently has no real interest in truly evaluating your overall health. You are treated like a number and not a human! This doctor caused me to loose all of my benefits after only seeing me twice by submitted a report to my insurance company that did not reflect my injuries.
I saw Dr Falkenstein with a 12mm bulge in my L4-L5 disc. He encouraged all non-surgical treatments first, and was NOT just 'eager to cut". Then those eventually failed to bring relief, he performed the surgery. I was walking the same day, and over the next few months, felt better and better. I'm now seeing him about a c4-c5 fusion I may need to have. i'm confident I'm in good hands...
Monday will be my second procedure with Dr Falkenstein. It's a very serious L2-C1 replacement and fusion (jibber jabber) Involving taking organs out to get to the spine. I should be nervous. However, he replaced 2 discs, added spacers and screws in Nov without one complication and I'm in my mid 50's! If he truly believes you need surgery to have a better quality of life, he will even go down to the insurance company himself and fight for the procedure! This is a great Doctor! See ya Monday!
I am extremely satisfied with the services I received from Dr. Yacoubian and his staff for my TKR surgery in September 2016. From the moment it was decided to move forward with the surgery, I received the information I needed when I needed it. The staff did the leg work to set everything up and told me where to go and when. The surgery and recovery was great. The first two weeks a nurse and a Physical Therapist visited me at home, no problems. Later, the physical therapy I received was top notch
Dr. Falkinstein calmed all my fears. He immediately set up an MRI for a complete diagnosis, After non surgical treatment did nothing to help he scheduled surgery. My PPO insurance decided not to cover and the Monday surgery was put in jeopardy on Friday afternoon. Dr. Falkinstein called himself and insisted that the surgery be done ASAP. He was amazing! Thanks Doc... you're amazing!
Doctor Yuri Falkinstein is simply the best! He is extremely knowledgeable in his field. He is a very attentive, patient & caring doctor. He takes time to explain how the surgery will be done, he shows the steps by using a model of the spine, and he explains what to expect after the surgery. Thank you, Dr. Falkinstein for giving me my life back.
