Yesterday, I was told on a phone call with Youth Villages that my son was “stable” enough to go home and that his cut marks are normal/regular coping skill for children now. She said that if his cuts were worse, they’d keep him. Got it. 🫡 So, if your kid is cutting themselves in front of you, just don’t worry about it because Youth Villages along with Erlanger Health will just send them home if their injuries aren’t “deep enough.” That is absolutely trash and unacceptable. THEY DONT CARE. They tore my family apart and traumatized me. They tried to convince me I was overreacting when I was violated. They told me as long as I lied then I could finally be back with my family. PLEASE do not get involved with this organization. I will have to live with this for the rest of my life.

My son had a counselor from this place and she didn't help matters any, infact she made things worse for the entire family including my son. They was supposed to assign him a new counselor but refused and service provided was awful and not even helpful. A child that has behavioral issues and mental health and should have been given 1 on 1 counseling turned into him getting removed and being locked up because he had a problem with the counselor that came out cause he didn't like nor trust her. Our foster child (pre-teen) was assigned to a young case worker named Quinn Vinson. She was new, inexperienced, and certainly should not have been assigned to work with a child with extensive trauma. My husband and I regularly felt like we were more knowledgeable than this young lady. In the future, we hope that Youth Villages will do more training with young therapists before sending them out to help children with substantial trauma.
