Youth Home has the most Caring and Compassionate Employees. I received services in 1993. I've made friendships with some of the staff that has lasted a lifetime. My experience was very positive. I've since giving a speech to the Employees at Youth Home about my experience while there. As well I've spoke to the teenagers that are attending school there. I was there in 2009 & 2010 in houses Sturgis & Hickory. Wish I would of done better than I did the last time I was there I messed up and went to Juvie, then eventually to Alexander DYS and Dermott JCF
I'm looking for a place for my son who's 14 I'm seeing a lot of different reviews on the different treatment and terrified of that. I have seen in other places the staff will antagonize the kid till they reacted or tell kids they won't go home if they keep crying I'm not saying this place has done that this is a real true fear of mine and I just need to know what are the actual staff like what is the food there? does anyone have their teen boys there that can tell me if it's a good safe enviu?
Back about 10-15 years ago I was here , SA is rampant in places like this without cameras at all , zero sense of accountability
Was a patient here back in 2023. I was there for 7 months (would've left sooner if I had actually worked in therapy) and not only did I learn a lot about how to "deal with" my emotions and traumas, I also made connections that helped support me through my stay. Miss Tiffany and Miss Ashley always made sure I (1) was motivated to work on myself and (2) understand why some of my behaviors were harmful to myself as well as others.
