Nice facility. Except for the therapist Romeo. He is not giving tough love he is just disrespectful and should not be a therapist. There is a reason everyone switched out from having him.
Youth care helped me substantially, thanks to the staff! I made close connections there as well. HOWEVER If you are a parent looking to send your kid here PLEASE consider starting with a lower level of care or shorter term placement. This place while it can be helpful, is very restrictive and chaotic. My experience was constant fights, awol attempts, and stripped of many things. Our 16 yo old daughter has been struggling with mood and anger regulation, anxiety and depression for many years and Youth Care is her 5th residential placement and by far it has been the most effective. The clinical and residential staff are knowledgeable, caring and very experienced dealing with kids who have been through a lot. The weekly parent/care giver support group is very helpful and supportive!
