Professionally incompetent, dishonest, and takes advantage. Fair price for a septic pumping. Background: I had sewage in my backyard above my septic tanks. It apparently wasn't getting pumped to the sand mount. I had Young's Septic come in. They diagnosed the issue as a broken pump. They drained the tank, charging me about $350 (fair price), and then gave me an estimate for $2100 for a new pump.
