After 20 years of reliable service, I decided it was time to replace my 10 SEER 3 Ton York Heat Pump (R-12) with a 14 SEER York. (The 10 SEER had experienced some aging maintenance costing a few hundred dollars and several days of my time.) The new 14 SEER came with a 10 year warranty on parts. I had a York heating and air conditioner installed almost ten years ago . The unit had a 10 year warranty and I bought a 10 year labor warranty In this period of time the A coil has been replaced three times and about to have the coil on the outside unit replaced. I think the problem with my unit is it is made out of aluminum with no copper in them. What I have been told that if I had to pay for these units it would cost around $12,000 dollars.
