Mika didn’t try to sell me products or treatments I didn’t need. It’s clear what motivates her is what’s best for each person’s individual case. She explained what would help my hair and scalp long-term, even if that meant doing less right now. That kind of honesty and integrity is refreshing.

I came into House of Yoko mostly out of curiosity about the Japanese Head Spa side of the operation, but stayed as a loyal customer because of the trichological science they explained to me. The hour-long professional scalp assessment alone changed how I think about hair care. As I’ve said to my friends, this is not your average spa or salon.

House of Yoko feels like a sanctuary for people who are tired of noisy salons and vague advice derived from TikTok culture and popular trends. Everything here is slow, done with deliberate intent, and grounded in real knowledge (it’s run by an IAT Certified Trichologist). During my appointment, I felt heard and seen as an individual, not rushed through as just another appointment slot in the booking software.
