Amazing food, great atmosphere, attentive waiters when you need them and they will check up on you just in case. The main food is the skewers, and the meat soft and juicy and is all right off the grill so it can be hot, but hits the spot. Also great veggie options are available like eggplant which is sprinkled with green onion and fish flakes.
I almost never leave bad reviews, but this place made me wait an hour (after quoting 30 minutes), only to tell me their system was down and they couldn’t take cards. It was 11 PM and everything nearby was closing. I asked about Zelle, Venmo—anything. I even started asking strangers for spare cash like a modern-day beggar because I was THAT hungry. The food is amazing specially the beef bowl and short ribs, but the service is disastrous. Imagining asking for the check already from 2 waiters still waiting almost 15 minutes and everyone is walking around and nobody is giving your dam check and you have to stand up and go for begging the check. They shouldn’t expect any tip for that service.
When I miss those darn skewers from japan so much this is the first place that EVER comes to mind to make me feel like I'm visiting Yokohama again. Always quality meats and peak Chu-hi drinks Shikuwasa is the tart kick go to with Tsukune or Kushikatsu. Always appreciate the vibes here. Dope staff✔ Chef rips that grill✔ Great drinks✔ just can't miss.
Everything was perfect. Food is real Japanese. Service good. Ambience is good. Real izakaya. But do make reservation. It’s critical.
