We rented a house for the beginning of September. Upon arrival, the house looked ok. But after spending some more time there, I realized quickly how dirty the house was. They claimed that they were sanitizing high touch surface areas due to covid but it was clear that light switches had never been cleaned. I spent my first hour and a half in this house cleaning. Horrible experience with this rental company - save your money. They don’t call you back , they take your money and leave you with whatever problems there are. After getting our check they didn’t respond to us- canceled our check in date bc the owners wanted to have a party. Kept the money even though we didn’t stay for that night, horrible. Most awful rental I have ever experience .
Beware of these owners of the listing “La Playa Grande”. They cancelled our rental for Labor Day three weeks prior to our dates without any explanation but blamed it on the “pandemic”. They even took half of the payment at booking including a “$1000 COVID cleaning fee”. Yellow bird issued a standardized apology via email but again, did not provide an explanation and wouldn’t even give us a call back which was extremely unprofessional. Six of us (three couples) stayed at the Downtown Hideaway over the weekend of September 27. The house was one of the best rentals we’ve ever stayed at - beautifully appointed and fully equipped. And, less than a mile to the New Buffalo shops and restaurants. Booking, checking in and out couldn’t have been any easier. And, Toni provided us with wonderful suggestions from restaurants, wineries, and transportation to how to access cellular service during down times. Will definitely return next year.
We recently stayed at one of their properties in Union Pier and it was fantastic. They were easy to work with and the house was perfect for our group. Walking distance to the beach and had all of the amenities. Would definitely stay with them again!
My family rented Barefoot Beach House a few weeks ago. While it was gorgeous, there were numerous issues including misrepresentation of the bed sizes, pool features that malfunctioned, food in the fridges and clothing in closets, not enough bath towels and a significant leak in the kitchen ceiling. We were disappointed with the basic offerings for a property that commanded a huge weekly rental price. John and Toni at Yellowbird are the absolute best. We have been renting Yellowbird homes 2-4 times a year, exclusively I might add, for the last 6 years. I would not even think about calling anyone else. The value and service level is exactly what we want and the homes are always well maintained and tastefully decorated. Most importantly the bed linens are always fresh, clean, and nice which is our number one requirement when renting any home.
We had an Incredible time at the holabird property for New Years with friends. Customer Service was great and the property was incredible. We can’t wait to use Yellow Bird Vacation rentals again. Would highly recommend this property!
