Excellent physician. I have been seeing her for many years and she always spends her time speaking with me. She has very good bedside manner and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
She is a world class physician with incredible bed side manner. She brings a lifetime of experience and expertise while having the touch of southern hospitality that a town like Okeechobee deserves. Even though the wait times could get a little long, I highly recommend Dr. Akhtar to anyone seeking a great loving doctor who cares about you as a person!
There have been quite a few hiccups in the time that I have been her patient in the past 4 years. Mainly with her staff failing to do referrals for procedures, failing to get back with pharmacies and items as such. The average wait time is over 30 minutes in her office. She has a great bedside manner and is very good about spending adequate time with you. But that all changed when I decided to move out of state. Only if there are no other choices. Dr. Akhtar is good but her staff is nasty and rude.
