Yama is delicious. Their lunch special with soup is amazing.
As far as sushi goes in Plattsburgh, you can't beat them. Inviting atmosphere and perfect for a little date or catching up with friends over some good food. Edit: This place still rocks 8 years later.
Really good salmon sashimi, and yellowtail. The vegetable tempura is kinda awesome. Their service is humorously varied, but completely overshadowed by the food quality. I have been 3 times in the two weeks since I tried it for the first time, and have plans to go again soon. The 'monkey roll' is a pretty wild ride but it sets you back down gently...... I'll be ordering that repeatedly I'm sure.
My son and I stopped for the first time while in town on a friend's recommendation. So glad we did. Son always wanted to try sashimi, it was fresh and tasty. The California roll was the best I've had. Lots of food for your money. Waitress was very kind and helpful.
