We had a good experience up until I learned that the doctors could have most likely given my son something to relax him before getting stitches in his tongue. Instead they gave him novocaine straight to his injured tongue and he screamed bloody murder. Come on, do better.
What a nightmare this place is. We took our 4 year old on doctors orders and let me tell you, nightmare. The place is filthy, the waiting room is small and overrun. The wait time is unbelievable especially with a young child. We got there around 530-6 pm and didn't not leave till around 2 am. You're better than this Yale, what a shame.
I gave 5 stars because it’s a great hospital and er for children. My only issue I have as I’m sitting here right now is that they change the channel from adult swim to a kid friendly channel. All these curse words sound all these children is wild. It’s a children’s emergency. Told the nurse and she immediately gave me a stank look and said “ I’ll get someone to do it as soon as they can” mind you there’s a whole security sitting at his desk.
Our son visited the Children’s ER last Friday. 1/24/25. We arrived early and were taken in immediately. He woke up with severe dizziness, headache and nausea. He recently had numbness and tingling in his hands while swimming, so we thought it was related. The doctors in the ER that day were fantastic and comforting, they quickly realized that he also had a temperature and suspected something viral was going on.
