Everyone is a critic! I have been a member of several different gyms, but must say that XSport is by far my favorite. Even though Chicago Ridge is my home gym (it's an amazing gym) I prefer the Matteson gym. Since it is a smaller gym, it has a homier feel to it. The staff and trainers seem to be much more personable and more willing to assist the guest. Lastly, I'd just like to say that I have the best trainer this side of heaven. It's great when it's between 10:30am and 4pm. After that...it's over. It's way too packed!! Everything is taken/being used and you just have to make do with whatever it's left over. I know it's an "express" so therefore it's smaller than the rest of the Xsports but it's just not enough room once it's busy. Other near by gyms still have a lot of room to work with at its peak times.
The staff members are very helpful and motivates your workouts. I thought I was going to go there and do the treadmill only..Lol..but I was encouraged by one of the trainers to try the other equipment. I told him my fitness goals and he pointed out the different equipment i should use and even demostrated! LA Fitness never did that!
I like the convenience of it being open 24hrs but they should extend the time of the child care, and their shouldn't be a cost to send your child. I tried to cancel my membership after losing my job, and I was told that it would cost me an additional $200 to close it. I can't afford that so I'm literally stuck in my membership.
When signing up sales people will say anything to get you to join. I was told I could put my account on hold but was just recently denied my request. I was told I could put it on hold as I am a teacher and have a gym at school to use, and then start it back up. I was never told that I needed to meet certain requirements for this to work. As well, they allowed me to use my signing on fee for an hour massage, but was never able to have it done as they got rid of the service. Love christina's zumba class Thursday evening and insanity class on mon& sun.
I joined the Xit class and really enjoyed it. Great workout. Trying to cancel this class has been a total disappointment and I've been given the run around. I had to chase down the manager to get it canceled to quit charging my credit card. Now I find out it wasn't canceled and I've been charged 2 more times. This ridiculous process is just to keep people from canceling. Very disappointed with the management, especially because I am in management myself and I understand good customer service.
