I've been paying for this "service" for 9 months now. I had a water heater issue 1/1/2023. I called and was disconnected MULTIPLE times by their automated system. The two calls I put in, one at 9:20am, and once at 3:40pm, they said I had NOTHING covered!!! I have my enrollment proof with the four items I chose for coverage. Apparently my account is screwed up and someone will "call me back" but when? My water heater is leaking... not a good thing!

Scam. Absolute scam. I couldn't even get anything fixed. The hold times are horrible, half the people that I do talk to are as confused as I am. I've finally had it and canceled my services after a 1 year contract. Called and paid off the rest of the year (Nov 2022) and specifically told them to not renew, and will be cancelling. They said ok, and I thought that was it. 2 weeks later, I got a letter stating that they renewed our contract. What?? KB called today 11-8-2022, after I requested a date for my winter furnace maintenance and was told it would be in March 2023, What am I paying for??? This is November 2022 not March 2023. Don't purchase this from Xcel/KB. I have CANCELLED.

Over a month to look at my AC unit. Said I was out of their repair area in ***************. Still haven't gotten the money they said they would pay over 3 months later. Even with AC failing would have been cheaper simply to not have the service and get the new AC unit. Strongly do not recommend.

I called in on Saturday about one o'clock I was greeted by a lady that was really rude To me she could not find my account under my phone number I had to give her my old phone number Then she said I wasn't on the account and I had to get my wife on the phone to have her permission for me to talk to her about a simple question I usually call in and you guys are really good about stuff So I don't know if it was an answering service or what it was but it did not sound like home smart to me Was treated like a second class citize... read more

Had to cancel HomeSmart service after 20 + plus years. I called as HomeSmart email said to setup air conditioner tuning I called in April was told cannot setup appointment as it was to early. Call May 5th and HomeSmart siad they would have the contractor call me After 2 weeks I called HomeSmart and they said you are on the list I call again after 6 weeks and they HomeSmart said would send a text to the contractors. I called again after 7 weeks and Home Smart said the only thing they coud do is send another text to the contra... read more

I am a renter and my Landlord has Xcel HomeSmart repair service for appliances. When called about my refrigerator not cooling properly they said the best they could do is have someone there in seven days. Lost all the food in my refrigerator and freezer, over $300 of food. Read the terms and condition of the plan and Xcel does not stat how long they will come out to fix it. If they don't have the staff time come out in timely manner should offer the option getting fixed on my own and send them the bill

I am having xcel home smart for about 8 years.Couple weeks ago I called for my fridge(control panel didn't work). Technician from Builder appliance repair came,spent couple minutes looking in fridge(didn't even try to see what is problem).Told me,and same I was told from Xcel,they do not fix ice dispenser,water dispenser,control panel,compressor.Question is what they fix if anything.Disapointed I asked Xcel to take off fridge from my repair plan, because I see it useless.

We have had homesmart for many, many years. Over the last few years, the service has become unreliable and unresponsive so we decided to cancel. Sadly we do see anything in the terms or on their website about to do so. The renewal letter they sent is just as worthless on this point. So we started calling and calling and calling. Each call resulted in wait times of at least 45 minutes without a human being answering. Rather than spend my entire day waiting, I hang up and try again a bit later.
