Really disappointed with our recent trip to Woolworths. We used Scan & Go to scan items as we shopped, all good until payment. Then we were redirected to another checkout where staff said they needed to do a random check. We didn’t have problems with that and thought we could continue to pay afterwards. Then the wrong cart was loaded. It showed someone else’s items instead of ours. We were told to move to another checkout, but our cart still wouldn’t load. Date: 16/11/2025 — Around 4:25 PM Absolutely shocking and humiliating experience at Woolworths Hornsby. While paying at self-checkout, a team leader/manager (Indian lady, name Jo) suddenly grabbed my trolley and performed a “random check” in front of ~40 customers. She also overcharged me during this process. There was no prior notice, no explanation, and no signage about such checks. They always too lazy with the orders
Used the scan and go tonight but when I was almost done shopping, it stopped working and told us to see a staff member so that it could be returned. I went to where all the scan and go devices were to be returned and a staff member was there and helped me out. He was great and offered someone to scan my items for me in a different aisle but I said that I could do it myself and proceeded to use the self serve check out right next to us and he saw this.
