DO NOT HIRE CECIL Cecil Woods is a poor representation of legal service. I had a DUI charge in July of 2013. I was not able to make the first court date because I live out of state. He was able to get me a continuance. A judge denied the request for him to be able to enter a plea of guilty for me. I never heard back from him concerning a second date for a court appearance. Client Cecil Woods may or may not be a good attorney but his customer service is criminal. I hired him because of his flat rate price on a contested divorce. He began my divorce and whenever something happened his wife told me that its included in the price. Great, thats what a flat rate price should be. Then after a little while they tell you that the flat rate price only includes the hourly rate until your flat rate price is eaten up. Now its hourly. Basically the flat rate price is a retainer. Great attorney! I totally disagree with Beth T. I have hired Mr. Woods for several cases and highly recommend him as an attorney. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and professional. He helped me through some very hard times in my life and I'll always be grateful to him for his guidance and ability. Legal I can not recommend Cecil Woods to anyone. He tries to practice a variety of areas of law which limits him. I would call the office and on more than one occassion got information that did not apply to my case. It was very scary having him as a lawyer. When my file was referred to another lawyer he did not send all the records I had given him and there was no evidence or documentation on what he said he had done.
If he did for me he can do it for you Mr. Woods, Pete as I so informally called him, has defended me several times unfortunately. I first met him while i was a student at a local college. He was teaching Wills & Estates. I was not listening. I got arrested on a DUI charge more times than I can count & he kept me out of jail. I had to pay the courts & him. But no jail. Whether I dsrve this quality of defense I will never know, however, I will go to him anytime the authorities on the Gulf Coast come looking for me.
