Thank you for a fabulous meal at Woods Hill. Everything was unique and delicious! From the rustic decor to the delicious fresh baked seeded bread and creamy butter, everything was perfect! I would recommend the grass-fed Beef Short Ribs with a yummy maple glaze (it was a special) or the Buckwheat Risotto with crab and lobster...fantastic!! Bad experience. On 3/20 we were excited to check out the new restaurant. Once we went into the first door were asked if we had reservations. We said we didn't but would like to sit at the bar for a glass of wine and look at the menu. There were several empty seats at the bar. The older heavy set man greeting people then told us to come back in 20 minutes. Reason he said because the kitchen staff would be overwhelmed. Sorry wrong answer. Fabulous way to bring in spring on my birthday. Doorman was amazing, owner was pleasantly attentive by greeting us at our table,, waitstaff incredible, food was fabulous and healthy...just the way I like it. Welcome to Concord. We've been waiting for a 'fine, first class service restaurant'. Will definitely recommend and be back often.
Overall we were quite pleased. Hard to get into - can't get through on the phone, VM full, Opentable not working - this should resolve with time. The food was great but my one complaint was that I chose my entree based on the menu/server description: confit mushrooms (which the server said were Maitake). What arrived were halved button/crimini mushrooms what had been grilled on one side. They were good, but neither confit nor Maitake. If the restaurant is out of something, I think it should be noted. Congratulations to Kristin and her team. I thoroughly enjoyed my first dinner at WHT. Each dish was surprising and delicious. The unpretentious ambience and service made me feel at ease and the prices felt very fair considering the quality of the ingredients. With walls of windows facing the street and many decorative tributes to the building's history, WHT clearly intends to be a real part of the community.
