Really disappointing experience at Woods Coffee at Boulevard Park. When we walked in, I asked if there were other food options and the barista responded with a sarcastic “Hi, how are you?” as if we had been rude for not asking first. The interaction only got worse from there. When my girlfriend apologized and explained she was dealing with low blood sugar and needed a moment, the barista replied, “It’s okay, I’m getting paid by the hour.” It came across as dismissive and unprofessional. This is my favourite coffee shop. The location is second to none, beautiful spot to meet friends, catch up on some work or take the coffee to go and walk along the boardwalk. The drinks are good and the service is always friendly and prompt. A go-to whenever I am in Bellingham. It can be a bit busy here so if you want a quiet spot to work you may need to bring headphones.
