The most authentic, old-school barber shop experience in Houston. I came for a haircut and left with life experience. You walk into Mr. Gabriel's shop and you feel like you have been transported back in time. There are Old WW2 books and antique photos on the walls. Mr. Gabriel has exquisite technique and vast knowledge of his craft. If you have hair, you need to experience this place. Can't wait for my hair to grow back so I can return for more stories.

I walked in and asked to see if he could cut here. He says he doesn’t cut Black people‘s hair. He doesn’t have the experience so I walked out disappointing 2025.

Gilbert, the legend, the myth, just turned 90 years old last month. He's older than my grandparents, yet he's still in good shape with steady hands and a clear, sharp mind. He's been cutting people's hair since he was 25 years old, which was before my parents were even born. He still uses an old-style method to cut hair. The scissors are the traditional "cha-ching, cha-ching" type. He shaves the borderlines of the sides and the back of your hairline with shaving foam. The haircut ends with a head massage.
