We booked it for a staff mamber as a gift he stated the cottage was not as well maintained and was shabby. He went to do a BBQ and it was covered in rat droppings and whatnot, no gas etc. just looked like the effort which was obviously put in previously was not put in for his visit.
Woodend Cottage was clean comfortable and so warm and cosy with the coonara. It was well stocked with everything you may need. Beds were very comfortable . We stayed there October 25th -28th for a wedding at Mt. Macedon winery , it was an easy drive to drive to the wedding . Woodend was 5 mins by car yet the cottage and surrounds were so quiet and peaceful just what we needed for a relaxing weekend away. Far from the maddening crowd- the perfect weekend treat.
Woodend Cottage is a wonderful place to stay! Comfortable beds, soft ,clean & good quality linen & plenty of brekkie provisions, including lots of fresh eggs to last for your whole stay. Cassius was really flexible with check in & check out times & provided loads of wood for the Coonara heater. The grounds are full of eclectic furniture and have plenty of room for our Westie to enjoy as well as being safe so that we dont have to worry about her safety.
