I found Wood From the Hood as I was looking for lumber sources in the local area. They stock a great selection of reclaimed lumber, including large, live-edge slabs of all different sizes. The video I uploaded shows the types of wood they tend to carry. They also make a small selection of beautiful wood craft items for purchase (cheese/charcuterie trays, bar trays, decorative trees, etc.). Checking out their website, I saw the class they offer on making a cutting board with a resin accent. I took the class, which was taught... read more
Thrilled with the two tables Wood From The Hood made for us! We weren’t sure what to do with the “cookies” of our 75 yo elm that the city foresters left us after it succumbed to disease. Enter Kelly and the team of artisans- they were professional and easy to work with. They let us know just what to expect every step of the way. And now we have these beautiful heirloom reminders of the tree that gave our family and neighbors so much joy for decades!
We could not be more pleased with our experience with Wood from the Hood. We had a dining room table made from two walnut trees on our yard. We designed the table with assistance from Kelly Hermes. During the nearly two year process Kelly kept us informed every step of the way from the drying of the would to the construction of the table. The craftsmanship was first rate and would highly recommend Wood from the Hood.

She took our fuzzy notions, from ‘blue sky’ to tactile, functional reality: organic, of our natural surroundings. With Kelley we talked, sketched, iterated, refined, and ultimat... read more
Great place to pick up locally sourced wood at good prices! Good selection of species (especially ash, oak) and thicknesses. In particular, roasted ash is worth checking out. Beautiful with just an oil finish. (legs in pics are ash, lower stretchers are roasted ash) Staff is friendly and helpful.
