These people are obviously not going to the same restaurant as I am. The food is great and I happen to be Chinese. I recently moved into the Woodstock area and happen upon this little restaurant and they really make good dishes especially General Chicken which is my favorite and the Lo mein is define. The restaurant gone through some changes and upgrades the booths and hired a wonderful new waitress name Mimi which makes the place even better
10 years of Wong's – Here's the deal. Wong's Garden, is a taste like no other. Depending on they day or the cook. Their food, especially since I'm pregnant, would be amazing. The service, is absolutely dreadful. They just want you to eat and get out. Years ago, this wasn't the case. So what went wrong? Or Wong? I would go annually with my boyfriend and our daughter, and it used to be fine. No rush, great food, good service and we'd leave full. Lately, None of the above. Food is always the same, except for when you order it a... read more
Not good – Had takeout of: potstickers, general tsaos chicken, broccoli and pork, and special fried rice with beef, chicken, and shrimp. Potstickers were tough, white on the bottom with saute marks, and dark grey on top. Ok flavor but seemed like they were frozen at one point. General Tsaos chicken: too much breading, weird flavor, only other visible ingredient were the red chilis. Broccoli and Pork: girlfriend had it, hated it. I wouldn't go near it. Fried rice: I kind of liked it. It was a good mix of ingredients although ... read more
Great food! Best price in town! – I have been going to Wong's Garden for over 10 years, and have never had a bad experience...The food is average chinese food but for $5-6 at lunch its good food. Those who want higher quality food, go elswhere but be ready to spend a lot more. This is a family restaurant not a food experts restaurant and I think that is why some of the other reviews are mislead. You pay for what you get, and for me its worth it and it delicious!
BEST CHINESE FOOD IN THE CITY! – THe other reviews on here must be talking about a different restaurant because wong is a common name in portland. But the Wong's Garden I love has the best tasting chinese food ever. You have to dine in to experience the greatness of Wong's. I've gotten take out before which is still good but when the food has just come out of the kitchen and not closed up in a box the food tastes even better. This is my favorite of restaurant and my must have is the green bean with beef, it's cooked with bla... read more
Really Bad – This is just bad food. Vegetables are over cooked and everything tastes like old oil. Go to Hoho's.
Avoid at all cost! – I mistakenly ignored the other negative reviews and tried Wongs for the first time today. Horrible, horrible food. The Kung Pao chicken was completely flavorless and filled with odd, mushy vegetables. The "egg rolls" are truly bizarre - like a pork meatloaf wrapped in phyllo and deep fried. The Lo Mein was so bad it went straight into the garbage after one bite. Let's put it this way - I signed up for this site just so I could warn others to stay away. Do not eat at Wongs unless you want to spend the res... read more
It is what it is, good and cheap – Wongs is a great fricking deal, let's get that out of the way. Those elitist reviewers and food snobs can keep their swanky restaurants, I want something filling, good, and fast. I don't give a sh*t about about what the carpet looks like. Some dishes are better than others (orange chicken, egg rolls), but you are going to get that at every restaurant. Wongs doesn't pretend to be super authentic Chinese down to the secret ingredients. They keep it real and give us good, cheap, chinese.
Worst Chinese EVER. Avoid going at all costs. – OK anyone saying they like Wong's Garden food has no idea what good food tastes like and has no clue about the world around them. They are probably all in their 40's or older who have lived in the same neighborhood their whole lives and never tasted any food outside of Woodstock (which by the way has plenty of other good restaurants) My parents took me there once and my mom found gum in her food. The last time I went there I thought I would give it another shot and I found a co... read more
