I don’t why Ken Ho is so upset with his insurance coverage. For everyone’s info, there are two types of fees schedule in Ontario: one for general dentists and one for specialists. Dr Wong, being a specialist, has a higher fee schedule in accordance with the Ontario Dental Association. It is perfectly legal and in compliance. Notwithstanding, there is no rule in Ontario which stipulates that a dental procedure has to be entirely covered by a third party insurance like Ken Ho’s. She will charge MORE than the Ontario fee guideline. I didn't realize that she over charged more than the provincial guideline till I received my insurance statement. I had to pay upfront before any work. My insurance company paid upto the provincial fee schedule. But I was on the hook for the difference. She won't tell you upfront about her exorbitant fees and she always take full payment before doing any work. I don't think that's part of their professional code of conduct! Don't use her! I am wondering who give the right to the receptionist Shasha to decide “Dr. Wong won't see you”? I am wondering what's relationship between Dr. Wong and receptionist Shasha, who is the boss? As a receptionist, Shasha did not realized one of her main responsibility is providing adequate information to patient, and try the best to keep the patient for the clinic.
