For over 80 years, Wixey Bakery has been a piece of Toledo history and while times have changed, Wixey Bakery hasn't. We still use the same recipes and hand-crafted techniques to provide Toledo with our wonderful wedding and birthday cakes and our made-from-scratch bakery items. The groom and I met with Brian Wixey and Julie on Sept. 16, 2011 followed by the bride and groom meeting with Julie the next day, followed up by a very explicit email from the groom to Wixeys on Sept. 23. Awesome Denise and her team helped plan our Wedding Reception and it turned out great. Instead of the traditional Cake we did Cup Cakes and had 6 different flavors and to add t that we did mini deserts also. This was a huge hit at the party and I could not have asked for anything more. The classic Wixey jelly doughnut If limited to only one thing I cherished about Toledo, it would be a Wixey classic doughnut, the one with the brown roll topped with a subtle smear of white glaze filled with oozy - not thick - red jelly. I've searched for a duplicate, and there is none. It brings back best memories of the fifties when I lived in the neighborhood. Best Bakery in the World Truly, I have traveled all over the United States and Europe and currently live in Asia, and Wixey's is really the best! The baked goods are scrumptious, and the bread tasty and fresh. I worked for Wixey's as a young girl, and am very happy that it is still a family owned business. The Perfect Neighborhood Bakery Just walk in the door of Wixey's and you'll be transported back to an old-fashioned bakery with glass windows filled with treats. The cakes are outstanding - so good, my daughter has "Wixey's Frosting" on her Christmas list! Great service, great atmosphere!

Definitely the best bakery around I have been going to Wixey's Bakery for the past 25 yrs. and their desserts are just as good now as they were then. I order their cakes for every occasion and they are always a huge success. I would recommend this bakery to anyone who is looking for good homemade baked goods.
Mmm mmm good! Having recently moved from San Diego, I was looking for a great bakery to purchase my husband's birthday cake from. A co-worker suggested Wixey and what a great suggestion it was. I had a great coupon which helped lower the price slightly. The cake was absolutely amazing from the filling to the frosting. The ladies in the bakery are so friendly. I even purchased a cherry turnover for my husband and some brownies. I highly recommend them for any occasion!
great bakery, big selection This in my mind is one the best bakery still around. It has been around for a very long time, and has a huge selection of cookies, pastries, donuts, cakes, and pies. The brownies and elephant ears are very good! Price isn't bad either and the entertainment book has 50% up to $5! PROS: good price, good selection CONS:
