Jim and his team are fine to work with, but ultimately Wintrust Mortgage is not a company you should do business with or lend from. I bought a house with Wintrust through Jim in 2021 and sold it in 2024. After the sale of the house, Wintrust and its “tax department”, a third party called CoreLogic LLC. directly violated the Consumer Financial Protections Act by refusing to return the balance of my escrow account. I continue to get assistance with tax escrow matters and occasional extra principal payments from Jim and Austin to this day - 5 years after the closing ! Service before, during and after closing, thanks Wintrust Mortgage.
Austin is awesome when it comes to home buying. He makes the process easy. And they can work with business owners in a way that most banks can not.
