Great all around bar – While visiting Cleveland, I went to the Winking lizard and fell in love. They have hundreds of different beers and a four page food menu. If they opened one in Detroit, I would be there every night.
You just gotta try the Spinach Artichoke dip. – We just moved into the Cleveland area and came across the Winking Lizard restaurant in Penninusla Ohio. I can't vouch for any of the other locations, but the atmosphere and food there has always been top notch. Yes, at times a bit long to get a seat, but that's because they are so good! Great Bar Food – The Winking Lizard is the best place if you have a group of people with different food and beer tastes. Their menu serves everything from barbecue to grilled cheese to huge salads. The beer selection is like no other. Over 100 beers to choose from all over the world. I highly recommend trying a brew from a different country (other than heineken). Martini – I would have to call myself an expert in martini tastings. I have toured not only all of Columbus but that of NY, CT, NJ, CA, NC and countless other areas! Winking Lizard, by far, has the BEST martinis around. The generous sized glasses are super-chilled with ice crystals topping the liquor. I would cap it at a 2 drink limit...if you are looking to drive home legally maybe one. Winking Lizard Tavern is well worth the drive time for excellent drinks, service, & atmosphere, not forgetting the reasonable pricing. A+
Going downhill – I liked the old Lizrad! The staff was much friendlier and got waited on much quicker! This had been my favorite place to eat, especially on burger night! Then about a month ago, we went, got seated immediately, but waited to get waited on for over an hour! We didn't even get drinks! But the wait staff seemed to be catering to the large groups around us. We left. I was very upset, and told the hostess who didn't seem to really care.
It rocks! – I've been there three straight years on the night before going to my one and only Cleveland Browns game a year (drive down from Ottawa, Canada...about 8 hours just to see my Browns!) and the place rocks! Great service, fair prices, and so many different types of beer...makes me feel like I'm back home in Canada!
Finally! – The beer selection here beats just about anybody in the Columbus area. There are well over 100 beers available in bottles, and around 16 on draught. The bottles beers run the gamut from Stone, North Coast, GLBC, Ayinger, Victory, Bell's etc etc. There are a couple of gems on draught too such as Arrogant Bastard and GLBC Moondog. The Lizard Winked – Pam & I stopped before a Tribe game and I got the chicken. It was hot, tender and very juicey. I recommend it to everyone on the east or west side and everyone in the middle. Pie
Consistently Enjoyable – What's not to like? Whether you're meeting up with friends for food and drinks after your softball game or having lunch with co-workers, "The Lizard" is always a hit. Their ribs (and signature BBQ sauce) are excellent. But so are their burgers, wraps, appetizers, salads...everything. If you're a beer drinker you can choose from over 100 beers around the world.
