One of a Kind Gifts, Fabulous Jewelry, & Best Ever Haircuts – In a city of the different, WINK should be on the very top of your list as a must stop. Be sure to allow sufficient time to absorb the plethora and mixture of products which reflect the unique lens and style of the owners, Rob and Orren. You will find beauty products by Kiehls, Bumble and Bumble, Jane Iredale, Pearson Mason; whimsical gifts; fabulous one-off hand wrought jewelry in precious metals by artist TONY DAVIS; and other works of art including folk and out... read more
Awesome grift source – I happened into WINK over ten years ago on a discovery trip to Santa Fe and have been frequenting the shop and city at least twice a year since then. I am a snob. They have unique, one of a kind and hard to find items, gifts, skin products. My family loves what I bring home as gifts. Kiehls, Alexis Bittar, Pearson Mason hairbrushes, gorilla shaped soaps, art work. It's awesome. And the owners are really out there, fun zany, informative and direct (which I appreciate). I tell everyone to stop by just to... read more
Creative stylists and owners – I always enjoy going to Wink to see what is new on the shelves and on the walls. The store is really put together in a beautiful and fun way.The products are top quality and I've always received helpful comments from the staff. I;ve purchased unique products for myself and gifts for others. My stylist is Rob. I've known him since he worked in Chicago, He always makes me feel special and I think I look pretty great everytime he does my hair. I have been lucky enough to see and talk to celebritie... read more
Rude, – I would have put zero stars really. I went in there cheerfully looking for a product I had heard The guy at the cash register talked to me like I was slow and actually snapped when I wanted to learn more about a product. I actually had to say "Okay, there is no need to be rude" and he just snapped back, "I wasn't rude." Another lady who was there commiserated and said she was appalled at how he spoke to me.
Rudest service in a sad, misrepresented salon – I am always treated dismissively and unkindly in Wink, and if I can get service at all, it is given reluctantly, rudely, and as if, somehow, I am suspect. I have lived in Santa Fe for years and these experiences stack up. Once, they took about 6 hours to bleach my hair, and in the end, it turned out orange -- a horrific experience and they made me pay, with no apologies nor sensitivity. I do like supporting local businesses, but when it comes to Wink, I will be buying my kiehls... read more
A hair vacation – When I moved back to Santa Fe after a long time on the east coast, I had a very hard time finding a stylist who would work with me. After receiving the worst haircut of my life at a nearby salon, I bit the bullet and went to Wink, despite the cost. Rob now cuts my hair regularly, and he's given me consistently good cuts. I enjoy my visits with Rob and I wish I could afford to go more frequently, because a visit at Wink is a lot like a little vacation. What I like about Wink is that they are honest and willi... read more
Best Salon, Hands Down – When I moved to Santa Fe a year ago, I thoroughly researched where I should go to get my very thick, very frizzy, unruly hair cut. I ended up at Wink and met a stylist named Edward. He was great. Very proessional and very experienced. He has since left Wink, and so I went to a new salon not far away. Well, it was the worst haircut I ever had, and I was deeply disappointed because their website makes it sound fabulous. I won't mention the name here, but you'll see my review of it if you scan other sal... read more
Not "The best in the West" or even in Santa Fe! – I recently moved here from Manhattan in New York. Of course, moving is always so painful especially when having to leave your favorite hairstylist. I have been searching for a hairstylist here in Santa Fe that would be similar to expertise and taste as my stylist in New York. After going to Paper Rock Scissor and receiving the worst possible consultation, I left and decided I would go to WINK since it was purportedly rated the best in Santa Fe by Harpar's and Town and Country... read more
