Let me preface this by saying that nothing on US 301 is going to be great. We all know this. It's 301. You get what you get. That said... Room was clean, but: No chair for the desk. No top sheet on the bed. This is a trend that needs to stop. I get too hot under a comforter, I sleep with just a top sheet on me at home. Made it hard to get to sleep. And then there's the see-through window shade and no curtains. Not at all a fan of that. As to the area, it's not great. There are several abandoned vehicles in the parking lot.

Please be advised the pictures for this hotel is false. The area and direct surroundings are horrible and not that safe. The hotel itself was terrible and the room was not worth the cost. Individuals that stay there on a constant basis could care less for anyone else staying there. Doors slammed throughout the night and morning, dogs barking, people using foul language and yelling through the hallway.

I recently stayed at the Wingate and overall had a very pleasant experience. The room was extremely spacious, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the air quality in the room was great. Check-in was quick and easy especially with pre-check-in. Just a tip: make sure your reservation card and pre-check-in card match to avoid duplicate charges. There is always a problem with the guy at the desk. I requested to switch rooms because of the people across the hall were making too much noise and he said that there was nothing he could do when there were two other floors that had vacancies. The rooms are a different story. Just don't come here if you don't want a bad experience.
